Terms of Service

Version 1.0Effective 2026-09-15Last updated 2026-09-15

The master agreement governing your use of OnCampusDaily. Specialized activities (selling, providing services, organizing events, advertising) are also governed by their own agreements referenced here.

1. Introduction and how these Terms work

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the master agreement between you and [OPERATING ENTITY LEGAL NAME — LEGAL COUNSEL REVIEW REQUIRED: confirm the registered entity operating OnCampusDaily before publishing], operating as "OnCampusDaily", "we", "us", or "our", governing your access to and use of the OnCampusDaily platform (the website, any mobile application, and related services — the "Platform").

By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy & Data Protection Policy. If you engage in a specific activity on the Platform — selling in the marketplace, listing a service, managing a business page, organizing an event, listing a program, or advertising — you also agree to the specialized agreement that governs that activity (listed in section 12 below and in the Legal & Policies center). Where a specialized agreement addresses a topic these Terms also mention, the specialized agreement controls for that specific activity; these Terms control for everything else and for the platform relationship generally.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Definitions

"Platform" means the OnCampusDaily website, application, and related services. "User", "you" means any person who accesses or uses the Platform. "Content" means any listing, post, message, image, review, or other material submitted to the Platform. "Organizer" means a user who creates and manages an event. "Program Provider" means a user who lists a Program. "Seller" means a user who lists goods in the Marketplace. "Service Provider" means a user who lists a service. "Advertiser" means a user who purchases sponsored placement. "Specialized Agreement" means any of the activity-specific agreements referenced in section 12. Other capitalized terms are defined where they first appear, or in the specialized agreement that uses them.

3. About OnCampusDaily

OnCampusDaily is a digital campus platform providing discovery, listing, messaging, ticketing, and related tools for a university community: a marketplace, a service-provider directory, a business directory, events and ticketing, program/course discovery listings, campus publisher content, community posts, and payment/wallet functionality supporting the foregoing.

OnCampusDaily is a venue and technology provider. Except where OnCampusDaily is itself expressly identified as a party to a transaction (for example, as the ticketing and payment facilitator described in the Ticketing Terms), OnCampusDaily is not a party to transactions between users — buyers and sellers, clients and service providers, attendees and organizers deal with each other directly, on the terms they agree between themselves and subject to the relevant Specialized Agreement. See the Independent Platform Notice for OnCampusDaily's relationship (or lack of one) to any university.

4. Eligibility and age requirements

You must be capable of forming a binding contract under applicable Nigerian law to use the Platform, and you represent that you meet that requirement when you register.

LEGAL COUNSEL REVIEW REQUIRED: the applicable minimum age and any special protections for minors under Nigerian law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023's treatment of a child's personal data and the Child's Rights Act, to the extent applicable) have not been independently confirmed for this Platform's specific user base and features. Until legal counsel confirms the applicable age threshold and any required safeguards (for example around marketplace transactions, messaging, or advertising targeting), OnCampusDaily should not assume that every enrolled student is automatically a legal adult, and features that collect personal data, process payments, or enable direct contact between users should be reviewed with that in mind.

5. Account registration and accuracy

To use most features you must register an account with accurate information. You must keep your account information current, and if you submit information for verification (see the Verification Policy) it must be accurate — submitting false information, including a false department, level, or identity document, may result in your verification being rejected, your content being removed, or your account being suspended or terminated.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

6. University and campus affiliation

Your account may be associated with a university and campus for discovery and verification purposes (for example, so listings and events near you are easier to find, and so student verification can be reviewed by the right department). This association is informational and operational; it does not mean the university has reviewed, endorsed, or is responsible for your use of the Platform. See the Independent Platform Notice.

7. Platform services overview

Subject to these Terms and the relevant Specialized Agreement, the Platform provides: (a) Discovery — search and browse across marketplace listings, services, businesses, events, programs, and publisher content; (b) Marketplace — peer-to-peer listing and sale of goods, governed by the Marketplace Seller Agreement; (c) Services — listing and discovery of student/professional services, governed by the Service Provider Agreement; (d) Businesses — business directory listings, governed by the Business Listing Terms; (e) Events & Ticketing — free and paid event listings, ticket issuance, QR-based validation, and organizer payout, governed by the Event Organizer Agreement and Ticketing Terms; (f) Programs — external discovery listings for courses, cohorts, bootcamps, and similar opportunities where registration and payment happen off-platform, governed by the Programs & External Listings Terms; (g) Advertising & Sponsored Content — paid placement for eligible content, governed by the Advertising & Sponsored Content Agreement; (h) Wallet & Payments — an internal ledger and funding mechanism supporting ticket purchases and other in-platform payments, governed by the Payment & Refund Policy; (i) Messaging & Community — direct messaging between users and community posts, subject to the Community Guidelines; (j) Publisher content — campus news and media content published through verified publisher accounts.

We may add, change, or discontinue features from time to time.

8. User-generated content and license

You retain ownership of content you create and are legally entitled to submit. By submitting content to the Platform, you grant OnCampusDaily a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, transmit, resize, format, technically process, back up, and otherwise deliver that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Platform and to provide the service you requested (for example, showing your listing to other users, or generating a ticket QR code from your event data). This license is limited to those legitimate platform purposes, does not transfer ownership, and — subject to legal, security, and record-keeping requirements described in the Privacy & Data Protection Policy and the Intellectual Property & Copyright Policy — ends when you remove the content or close your account, except to the extent a copy needs to be retained for the reasons described in those policies (for example, evidence of a completed transaction, or content already shared with another user who retains a copy).

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit, and that it does not infringe a third party's intellectual property or other rights. See the Intellectual Property & Copyright Policy for how infringement complaints are handled.

9. External websites, third-party providers, and off-platform communication

The Platform links to, or facilitates contact with, external websites and services that OnCampusDaily does not control — including a Program provider's own registration site, a seller's or organizer's WhatsApp number, payment processors, cloud and email infrastructure providers, and identity-verification providers. OnCampusDaily is not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices, or conduct of these third parties. When you leave the Platform for an external destination (for example, clicking "Visit Website" on a Program), you do so subject to that destination's own terms and privacy practices, not OnCampusDaily's.

10. Prohibited activities

In addition to the specific prohibitions in the Community Guidelines and the relevant Specialized Agreement, you agree not to: use the Platform for any illegal purpose; provide false or misleading information; impersonate another person or organization, including a university or its departments; circumvent or attempt to circumvent verification, moderation, ticketing, or payment controls (including disguising a ticketed event as a Program to avoid ticketing obligations — see the Programs & External Listings Terms); upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' accounts; scrape, harvest, or misuse other users' data; interfere with the Platform's normal operation; or use the Platform to infringe another party's intellectual property or other legal rights.

  • Fraud, scams, and payment circumvention prohibited by the Community Guidelines
  • Sale or promotion of illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or dangerous goods
  • Ticket resale or fraud prohibited by the Ticketing Terms
  • Misleading advertising claims prohibited by the Advertising & Sponsored Content Agreement

11. Moderation, reporting, suspension, and termination

OnCampusDaily may review, remove, or restrict access to content, and may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account, where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce these Terms and the relevant Specialized Agreement — including on an immediate basis where necessary to protect users, personal data, money, property, platform security, or public safety, pending a fuller review. See the Content Moderation, Reporting & Takedown Policy for the process, including the appeal mechanism, and the Complaints & Dispute Resolution Policy for how disputes are handled.

You may delete your own content and, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements described in the Privacy & Data Protection Policy, close your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us.

12. Specialized agreements incorporated by reference

The following agreements are incorporated into these Terms by reference and apply in addition to these Terms for the activity they cover: Marketplace Seller Agreement; Service Provider Agreement; Business Listing Terms; Event Organizer Agreement; Ticketing Terms; Programs & External Listings Terms; Advertising & Sponsored Content Agreement. Where you engage in an activity covered by one of these agreements, you agree to it as a condition of that activity, and it governs the activity-specific obligations, warranties, and indemnities for that activity. These Terms continue to govern your general use of the Platform, intellectual property, privacy, liability, and dispute resolution except where a Specialized Agreement expressly varies a term for its specific activity.

13. Payments, ticketing, and refunds

Payment processing, the wallet ledger, ticket purchases, and refunds are governed by the Payment & Refund Policy and, for events specifically, the Ticketing Terms. OnCampusDaily is not a bank, deposit-taking institution, or licensed payment service provider; where a third-party payment processor is used, its role is described in the Payment & Refund Policy.

14. Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms or any Specialized Agreement excludes or limits a right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Nigerian consumer-protection law. Where a provision in these Terms would otherwise have that effect, it is limited to the maximum extent the law permits, and your statutory rights continue to apply. LEGAL COUNSEL REVIEW REQUIRED: the specific mandatory consumer protections applicable to marketplace, service, ticketing, and advertising transactions on this Platform under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act and related Nigerian law have not been independently confirmed and should be reviewed before these Terms are relied upon as final.

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". OnCampusDaily does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, and does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, quality, safety, or legality of content posted by other users, including listings, services, businesses, events, and programs — those are the responsibility of the user who posted them, as detailed in the applicable Specialized Agreement. This disclaimer does not exclude a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OnCampusDaily is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or data, arising from your use of the Platform, another user's conduct (including a seller's, service provider's, organizer's, program provider's, or advertiser's conduct), or a third-party website or service you access through the Platform.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by OnCampusDaily's negligence, or a mandatory consumer-protection right. LEGAL COUNSEL REVIEW REQUIRED: whether a specific liability cap (a maximum monetary amount) should be included, and at what level, has not been determined and should be set with counsel's input based on the operating entity's risk profile and applicable law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold OnCampusDaily harmless from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms or a Specialized Agreement; your content; your fraud, illegal conduct, or misrepresentation; your infringement of a third party's intellectual property or other rights; or your conduct as a seller, service provider, organizer, program provider, or advertiser, as further detailed in the relevant Specialized Agreement. This obligation survives closure of your account, subject to applicable law.

18. Force majeure

OnCampusDaily is not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control, including natural disasters, infrastructure or internet failures, government action, civil unrest, security incidents, or the failure of a third-party service provider (including a payment or hosting provider) it reasonably relies on. This does not excuse OnCampusDaily from obligations that cannot lawfully be excused, and does not remove a mandatory consumer right.

19. Relationship between the parties

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, or fiduciary relationship between you and OnCampusDaily, or between OnCampusDaily and any university or other institution, unless expressly agreed in writing. See the Independent Platform Notice.

20. Dispute resolution and governing law

Most concerns should first go through the Complaints & Dispute Resolution Policy, which describes how platform complaints, marketplace/service/business/event/ticketing/program/advertising disputes, privacy complaints, intellectual-property complaints, and moderation appeals are submitted and handled.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. LEGAL COUNSEL REVIEW REQUIRED: the appropriate forum for unresolved disputes (courts of a specific jurisdiction, or arbitration) has not been determined and should be set with counsel's input. Nothing in this section removes your right to approach a competent regulator, court, or other lawful dispute mechanism — OnCampusDaily's internal complaint process is a first step, not a substitute for your statutory rights.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and the Specialized Agreements from time to time. Each document displays its version number and effective date. Where a change is material, we will seek renewed acceptance from affected users before it takes effect for them, as described in the Legal & Policies center. Continued use of the Platform after a non-material update constitutes acceptance of the update.

22. Severability, waiver, assignment, entire agreement

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect, and the unenforceable provision is limited or removed only to the extent necessary. OnCampusDaily's failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of its right to do so later. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; OnCampusDaily may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law regarding notice to affected users. These Terms, together with the Privacy & Data Protection Policy and the applicable Specialized Agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and OnCampusDaily regarding the Platform.

23. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be directed to [LEGAL_CONTACT_EMAIL — set in packages/constants/src/legal/contacts.ts before publishing]. For a specific activity, see the contact details in the relevant Specialized Agreement, or use the Complaints & Dispute Resolution Policy.

Legal review required before reliance

This document has been prepared as part of the OnCampusDaily platform's legal and compliance framework. It is intended to establish the platform's operational and contractual structure but must be reviewed, adapted, and approved by appropriately qualified Nigerian legal counsel before being relied upon as final legal documentation.

Legal counsel should specifically review the operating entity, applicable Nigerian laws and regulations, data-protection obligations, consumer-protection obligations, payment and ticketing structure, tax obligations, advertising requirements, intellectual-property procedures, dispute-resolution provisions, age requirements, liability limitations, indemnification provisions, and any sector-specific regulatory obligations.

Buying or selling a paid event ticket? See the Ticketing Terms. Every other agreement is in the Legal & Policies center.
